Description: A quiz for first and second class children which explores the life of the patron saint of Ireland

Learning outcomes: Children will learn some interesting facts about the life of St. Patrick.

Extension activities: Children may wish to do further research on the life of St. Patrick.

St. Patrick's Day Surprise!

Description: Match all the pairs to reveal the hidden picture! Play again and again as the cards are scrambled.

Learning outcomes: Children will learn to match identical pairs and improve their concentration and memory skills.

Resources required: None

Extension activities: An A3 sized picture could be placed on the table and covered with an inverted set of identical matching cards. Children in pairs could find the matching cards to reveal the picture.

 

 

 

St. Patrick

Nobody knows exactly where St. Patrick came from....he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland but experts are divided on whether he was snatched from Wales, England or Brittany in France!

 

St. Brigid

St. Brigid was the daughter of a powerful pagan king and christian mother who had been kidnapped from Portugal before being brought to Ireland and sold into slavery!
