No Uniform Day

in aid of the

 Chernobyl Children's Project.

There was a no-uniform day in SHNS on April 25th in aid of the Chernobyl Children's Project. Each year a number of families in the Newbawn area take children from the stricken area into their homes.

This year the children were asked, if they chose to take part, to make a donation of €1 minimum. On the day every single one of the 146 children currently on roll took part. The latest fashions to the current in vogue sports jerseys were all on display and proudly worn.

Ms. Crowe's 5th & 6th Class were responsible for collecting, counting and bagging the donations as well as organising the participants raffle.

CB (Junior Infants) won a Wexford Creamery GAA jersey while AQ (3rd Class) won a Wexford Creamery GAA Gearbag.

That evening nearly €300 was sent to Mrs. Rita Doyle, a local lady heavily involved in the Chernobyl Children's Project.
