Report from PA A.G.M. 29th September 2010 

  • Start of year photos for junior infants
  • Halloween Party
  • 50/50 raffle, which was a huge success with the children and caused a bit of classroom rivalry.
  • Liased with school re the introduction of Food Dudes
  • At Christmas; The children’s arts exhibition

The refreshments afterwards in the hall, which was supported by the parish council

  • Easter visit by Daphy Duck and Miss Piggy with easter eggs for all the children and the teachers
  • Funky Kids programme which concluded with two fantastic performances by those children involved.
  • Liased with the BOM on editing the; Parent/guardian information packs and Application for Enrolment Forms
  • Sports day

  • Development of a draft constitution for the Parents Association of Newbawn school.
  • Funding and provision of the outdoor classroom
  • Other outdoor funded projects include;

-          enhancement of the existing yard markings

-          provision of new yard markings

-          basketball hoops at the end of the school wall

-          painting of target goal at the end of the school wall

-          wall frescos for each classroom to paint in at the outdoor classroom end of the school.

  • Regular feedback and updating sessions with Liam to

-          Bring general issues that are raised by parents such as the removal of pot plants from the yellow line outside the school, smoking outside the school

-          discuss planned events

-          relevant points from committee meetings

  • Cheese and wine evening for all parents to welcome new parents to the school
  • Planning for the Bag packing in Supervalue on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th of October is currently underway and is being co-ordinated by Tina Gill.
